Interesting point. Something you may want to consider is music used in shows like Seinfeld and Friends. Like it or not and believe it or not, it’s the music you mind tunes in or out in some cases. Yes, Seinfeld was an exceptionally good show but the music really never evolved. Case in point, I don’t care how much you like the well crafted bass licks used to transition. The same ones over and over get old after a while. Luckily, the dialog of each new episode was enough to keep you interested.
Rick, that is a great point! I’ve never consciously thought about the music, but that could very well be the case. I was running an Adult Contemporary radio station and doing mornings when The Rembrandts were making their chart run with “I’ll Be There For You”. Now THAT is a song I never want to hear again for sure. You may be on to something! Thanks for checking out the podcast.
