The other night, I was up late and scrolling through the TV listings. On one of my movie channels, I stumbled upon Tommy, the rock opera from The Who. I remember seeing it in the theater when it came out in 1975, but I don’t recall much about it. I wanted to see Elton John and Tina Turner perform, but I remember little else. So, I decided to stay up and watch. It was definitely an art piece, and while enjoyable, I can’t imagine what my teen self thought about the film when I saw it nearly 50 years ago. While the music is iconic, I can’t say the same about the movie…
